National Portrait Gallery Announces Two-Year Family and Portrait Events Calendar

The National Portrait Gallery Australia has published a calendar of events covering the period from 23 August 2026 to 23 August 2028. This program features a variety of activities focused on families and portraiture, aiming to engage visitors of all ages.

All events will take place at the Gallery’s venue in Parkes, Australian Capital Territory. The calendar lists a range of artistic and cultural events, including workshops, exhibitions, and interactive sessions centred on portrait art and family participation.

The calendar was made available on 23 August 2026, providing a detailed schedule to help visitors plan ahead. While the program does not highlight any single exhibition, it collectively demonstrates the Gallery’s commitment to making portrait art accessible and enjoyable for families.

This initiative is part of the Gallery’s ongoing efforts to encourage community engagement through art, offering opportunities for visitors to explore portraiture in inclusive ways. The two-year span allows for sustained involvement with the Gallery’s activities, supporting cultural education and appreciation.

For both local residents and tourists, the calendar offers a chance to experience a broad selection of events that celebrate Australian identity and creativity through portraiture. The National Portrait Gallery continues to serve as a key cultural destination in Canberra, promoting artistic engagement and family participation.
